M.C. Escher Tessellations
M.C. Escher was an artist who integrated a lot of math into his artwork. Students created their own tessellations by beginning with a square piece of paper and transforming their paper into different shapes. They traced their shapes and repeated them, but they can not overlap. After all of the shapes were drawn and created, students had to look further at their shapes and identify what object, or animal, person, etc, the shape was.
